About the Podcast

Midnight Mawlanas
The Seekers That Never Sleep
As-salamu 'alaykum!

Hosted by young, traditionally trained ulama (Islamic scholars) from New York and operating under Sahifah Institute, Midnight Mawlanas brings you late-night conversations on a variety of Islamic topics that can be both candid and deeply thought-provoking. In talks among ourselves and with guest scholars and non-scholars, we address concerns that occupy the hearts of many Muslims around the world, especially new Muslims and those who are finding their way again. In a world where information floods every aspect of our lives from countless outlets, it is a pressing need of the community, more dire now than ever, to have easy access to the authentic, pristine teachings of our Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم through the legacy of Islamic scholarship preserved and inherited over centuries. It is our sincere hope and firm resolve to serve Allah and serve His creation by helping provide that access.
May Allah keep our intentions pure and our actions fair.

A Theist Imam
A. Theist. Imam. Not Atheist Imam. You'd be surprised to see how many people don't get that…. Don't tell me you thought that, too. Earned the nickname Atheist Mawlana after presenting repeatedly on atheism and its position far from nature and intellect. Adapted to A Theist Imam. Hates artificial argument acrobatics with a passion—likes to keep it real.

A Cynic Critic
Younger (and more pessimistic) brother of Ml Shakeel. Nothing is ever quite right to him. Doesn't seem to care much to mince his words, either. He isn't afraid to critique (almost) anything and everything. Nonetheless, he does have a keen, discerning eye for what is right.
